Try adding hot Italian sausage for added spice. 3 Servings 10 minutesPrep Time 30 minutesCook Time 0 peopleloved this print Ingredients Directions Ingredients For the base 1/2 jar Bertolli® Organic Creamy Alfredo Sauce 1 8-ounce ball of fresh mozzarella, sliced into discs 1 package pre-made pizza dough 1/4 cup flour (for rolling dough) For the toppings 1/2 pound hot Italian sausage 1 handful arugula 1 tablespoon Bertolli® Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Rich Taste 1/4 shallot, diced 1/4 shallot, cut into rings 2 minced garlic cloves Salt and pepper 1 egg (optional) Directions Prep Step 1: Remove pre-made dough from refrigerator (rest for 30 min. before using). Step 2: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Toppings Step 1: Heat oil in large stainless steel pan on medium-high. Step 2: Add diced shallots. Step 3: After 2 min., add minced garlic. Step 4: After 1 min., add hot Italian sausage. Step 5: When sausage is almost cooked through, add handful of arugula. Step 6: Finish cooking sausage and remove the pan from heat. Base Step 1: Flour your hands and the rolling surface. Step 2: Using a rolling pin, roll pre-made dough into a circle. Try not to overdo it — the less you mess with the dough, the better! Step 3: Lift the rolled dough and place it on a lightly oiled pizza sheet. Step 4: Spoon 1/3 cup of sauce in the center of the pizza dough; swirl the sauce to distribute evenly. Step 5: Add discs of mozzarella. Step 6: Top the sauce and mozzarella mix with the cooked sausage mix from Step 1 above. Step 7: Top with a few shallot discs. Step 8: Cook in 400 degree F oven for 12 min., or until underside of crust is browned. Be sure to monitor it, as timing could vary based on the specific dough you use! For the egg Step 1: When the pizza is almost finished, heat oil in a small non-stick pan and fry a sunny side up egg on low heat.
